Matt Hewitt was born in South Africa before immigrating to land of the long white cloud with his family in 1996. He officially became a Kiwi in 2006 and is now the most exciting talent to come out of the region since the Quin brothers.

The interesting thing about Matt is that he has only been surfing since 2005. He has accomplished in three years what takes many surfers a lifetime, notching up a list of competition achievements as long as your arm.

A kid who loves to punt is a kid who others like to watch and Matty enjoys nothing more than a tasty frontside air-rev on the right section. Matt is a super exciting natural footer with an obvious amount of natural talent, keep an eye on him.
