Winners of the 2008 Triple J "Unearthed High" competition Tom Ugly are set to release their highly anticipated self titled EP on August 21. Steering away from the world of major record labels, Tom Ugly hooked up with Billabong to help fund their debut EP and are set to tour the east coast through September. In the past 12 months they have supported the likes of Grinspoon, Children Collide, Midnight Juggernauts, The Grates and British India. I'm from a small cold country in the north, 32,5h flight from Sydney. One cold evening I was listening to this band, Tom Ugly. Didn't know what it was but pressed play -suddenly I was dancing around in my cabin and the cold winter night turned into a warm summer morning. Must have been dancing for six months... Decided to get on a flight to Australia, got a ticket to their concert, danced like crazy again -and have been dancing ever since!

Tom Ugly epitomise the raw sound of Australian Indie/Alternative music and as a huge fan of this Brilliant Band, nothing should get in the way of me winning one of the first copies of their EP, hot of the press.
