The Billabong World Junior Surfing Championships have just got a whole lot bigger with news that Billabong is teaming with Hurley to stage the Australian Open of Surfing at Manly Beach in Sydney from 2012.

The event will see the Billabong World Juniors move from its traditional January date into the newly created Australian Open of Surfing competition window from 11-19 February.
The Australian Open of Surfing, presented by Hurley and Billabong, will also include 6-star Association of Surfing Professionals events for both men and women, along with skate competitions and music, fashion and art events.
It promises to be a huge event and it was unveiled in Sydney today by Hurley founder Bob Hurley and Billabong CEO Derek O’Neill, along with Events NSW, IMG, Manly Council and Surfing NSW.

Also in attendance were surfing greats including former world champions Wayne ‘Rabbit’ Bartholomew, Barton Lynch, Mark Occhilupo and Mick Fanning.
The event will bring together the best elements from the World Junior Championships and California’s US Open of Surfing.
So, bookmark the dates as it looks like being an incredible prelude to the 2012 surfing season.

Womens ASP 6 star - $80,000

I would like the organizers to consider ALEXANDER RYBAK of Norway as one of the singers, entertainers for the event. Alexander is very hard working and would love to be involved. He has 225,000 followers on Facebook and a huge following in Europe of young people who would not only visit Australia but also buy Billabong products.
Please consider ALEXANDER RYBAK for your new event.
thanks.....russell.
